How We Carry Out an Architectural Visualization Project in Our Barcelona Studio
Santaló is a clear example of an architectural project that required a 3D render. We tell you a bit about this project.
It is the apartment of one of our members of Behind Pictures, who decided to model everything in 3D and create renders with several objectives:
The first and most important was to see the dimensions and layout of the apartment to test different interior design proposals. The second was to create a bathroom proposal for a possible remodel.
The first step for a project like this is to take photos, since being an existing space, it is the best way to copy the model and the materials.
In this case, there were no plans, something very useful for modeling an apartment, a building, or a commercial space… So, measurements of all spaces were taken to have the dimensions clear and replicate them perfectly.
Once the apartment was modeled in 3D, photos were taken of each material: the parquet floors, the baseboards, the door frames, the walls… Light entry at different times of day was analyzed to imitate reality as accurately as possible. In ArchViz or architectural visualization, photorealism is always sought, which is why the environment was studied in detail.
Finally, different furniture arrangements were tested in the different rooms to see what worked best and where, what sizes and possibilities different suppliers offered.
Renders were created of the living room, the kitchen, one of the bedrooms, the hallway, and finally the bathroom with the new proposal.
This last one served as a visual tool to sell the owner an improvement in their apartment. Thanks to images or renders, you can visualize a concept or simply sell an idea.
